I truly enjoyed Monica Fairview's "The Other Mr Darcy" and I am looking forward to her next book in the series "The Darcy Cousins". I am definitely a big fan. This is Caroline Bingley's love story and why doesn't she deserve one? I have always wondered why she had to be the "villain"... Wickham was a nasty specimen and he got away with it (twice I might add), even Darcy misbehaved and he got away with it. Is it Caroline's fault that she fell in love with Darcy (surely you cannot blame her)? She fought for him and she lost at the end. Monica Fairview gave her a chance to fall in love with Mr Darcy's American cousin and redeem herself and in the process created a romantic novel full of romance, human emotions, deep social interaction, beautiful description of Regency England with its balls, markets, countryside and off course Pemberley. On top of that we get to meet the wonderful cast of P & P characters, created by Jane Austen, visit familiar places and laugh at some very funny situations. Highly recommended.

A really interesting read, Darcy has an American cousin who comes to him wedding and meets Caroline Bingley. Over the months it builds up into a love hate relationship between the two.

When I first saw this on Amazon, I must admit that I was wary. I have started to read quite a few sequels that unfortunately I couldn't finish. Indeed, when at the very start of the book, we learn that Elizabeth Darcy has suffered a miscarriage, I worried that perhaps it was a story that would destroy Elizabeth to make another look better. Fortunately it did not and the story itself even managed to bring tears to my eyes.
I imagine that if Jane Austen were to read this, she would be most pleased.
