Book Description

This is the most definitive collection of Whitby Ghost stories to be published in the last ten years. This popular book, now in Author's Edition, covers all Whitby's well known supernatural tales, plus many not so well known stories.
Quaint, quirky and full of interesting details this book is written as an Original Ghost Walk of Whitby guide would deliver it. This is not a book of hyped up descriptions of fictional phantoms, the stories in this volume are of a good provenance and are a genuine representation of Whitby's supernatural heritage. This volume deals with not only ghosts and superstitions but also the factual background to the story of Dracula (where truth is stranger than fiction). Prepare to be chillingly entertained as a guest of the Original Ghost Walk of Whitby from the comfort of your armchair.

More About the Author

James J. Browne (1962- ) has managed to survive for over 50 years whilst having had many diverse and not necessarily interesting occupations. He has been, prior to leaving Blighty, a professional musician, a tour guide, road sweeper, recycling operative, fortune teller, insulation installation operative, light bulb packer, antique dealer, waiter, sea shell salesman and barman to name but a few.
James is also a graduate in Art History and a qualified EFL teacher. It was his brief career as a taxi driver, during the Crash, that decided it was time for him to leave England behind. His work as a château guardian in France inspired him to write "The Three Grand Brits".
Known for his sense of humour and imagination James slant on the world is not exactly mainstream. He is well versed in the art of oral storytelling and was a tour guide with "The Original Ghost Walk of Whitby".
He has maintained a life long interest in all things considered supernatural and incorporates these into his written work. He started to read palms and the tarot during his early teens and was giving professional readings at the age of sixteen.
Presently he lives and travels with his long suffering partner Samantha and two golden retrievers in a Fiat Ducato.
James has won no awards for his writings but believes a man can dream.

Over 50% of the photos in the book were not there. It was interesting reading but the photos would have made it better
