I had hoped for recipes and more detailed organic diet information, but found the breadth of this book thought-provoking, making me consider the organic lifestyle of the family more widely... eg regarding clothing, toiletries etc. A valuable resource for parents who care about the planet, but especially about their baby. And not too preachy - I want sound advice without the guilt trip on disposable nappies, and this fits the bill. The section on branded baby food needs updating, as more manufacturers have jumped on the organic bandwagon since publication!

I was so disappointed and also annoyed when I received this book. It is marketed very badly and claims to be something it is not. The book is preaching a vegan lifestyle as the optimum for good health and uses the term 'organic' as a marketing tool for this lifestyle. It claims to support "locally grown and seasonal vegetables and fruits as much as possible" which is completely ludicrous when the majority of recipes then contain banana, mango, coconut, tofu, soy milk or other similar products which are not locally grown and are only seasonal in the countries accross the globe from which they have been imported! The book should be called 'The Vegan Baby & Toddler Cookbook' and stop getting sales based on unfounded claims. I was really excited expecting a great book full of recipes on how to use local, seasonal organic food to produce good meals for my baby. Instead I got a dose of preaching about a lifestyle which I respect but do not choose to live and very few useful ideas at all. I'm giving the book to my sister who is vegan - she will love it and would have already bought herself a copy if it had been marketed correctly!

This was an excellent book and the recipes were wonderful how ever i was very disappointed that it turned out to be vegan as you can get organic animal products. I was hoping for some helpful recipes useing animal products. the tittle should perhaps be 'The [Vegan] Organic Baby and Toddler Cookbook.
However it was still a very good book and i do use it frequently and if i had been ordering the book as a vegan or vegetarian i would have rated it a 5 star.
