Format: Paperback
A great collection of many great soprano arias from some of the most well known oratorios of the repertoire complete with English translations.

I had to look in lots of different places on the internet before I found a repertoire list for this so I thought that it might be helpful to have one here:

J S Bach: Cantata 21: Seufzer, thranen, kummer, noth;
J S Bach: Cantata No. 68: Mein glaubiges herze;
J S Bach: Magnificat: Quia Respixit *with separate oboe part*
J S Bach: St John Passion: Zerfliesse, meine herze;
J S Bach: St John Passion: Ich folge dir gleichfalls *with separate flute part*
J S Bach: Christmas Oratorio: Nur ein wink von seinem handen

L v Beethoven: Christ on the mount of Olives: Preist der Erlostes Gute

Faure: Requiem: Pie Jesu

Handel: Jephta: Tune the soft melodious lute
Handel: Joshua: Oh! Had I Jubal's lyre
Handel: Judas Macchabeus: O liberty, thu choicest treasure
Handel: Messiah: Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion
Handel: Messiah: I know that my Redeemer liveth
Handel: Messiah: If God be for us
Handel: Samson: Let the bright Seraphim *with separate trumpet part*

Haydn: The Seasons: Welche Labung fur die Sinne (O how pleasing to the senses)
Haydn: The Creation: Nun beut die Flur (With verdure clad)
Haydn: Stabat Mater: Quis non posset

Mendelssohn: Elijah: Hear ye, Israel! (Hore, Israel)

Mozart: Mass in C minor: Laudamus te
Mozart: Solemn vespers: Laudate Dominum

Pergolesi: Stabat Mater: Cujus animam gementem
Pergolesi: Stabat Mater: Vidit suum dulcem natum

Purcell: Come ye, sons of Art: Bid the Virtues, bid the Graces

Rossini: Stabat Mater: Inflammatus et accensus

Vivaldi: Gloria: Domine Deus *with separate violin or oboe part*

Hope this has been helpful and I hope that you enjoy singing the arias in the collection as much as I do!

Format: Paperback
I bought this book because i am a student of classical singing. It was one the best compilations i found with pieces of Oratorios.It contains selections by Bach, Beethoven, Faure, Handel, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Pergolesi, Purcell, Rossini, and Vivaldi. It is very clear written and it also has the translation in English. I think it is a very good compilation, especially for students who need to learn this kind of songs.

A purchase for my daughter for her classical music training. Her tutor was surprised at the price and has promised to recommend the purchase from Amazon to other students and suggest they look for other publications there also.
