As someone who does not read music, I do not really need a full manuscript. Therefore this book is ideal for me as it just has the words and the ukulele chords. Ideal if you just want to strum and sing. If you know the chords on other instruments then there is no reason why you couldn't buy this book if you are a guitarist, mandolinist (if there is such a word) or pianist. The range of songs is wide from standards to stuff that is only a few years old. However, if you do not know the song then you will never be able to play it with this book as there is no melody line. Fortunately not many are that obscure.

I've got most of the series and - apart from the black one - would recommend them all. If however you are a fingerpicker or need the meoldy line then this is not the book for you.

Could be better 8 Feb 2012

This book is ok for the money, but could be improved by including notation for the songs as well as chords. I was also disappointed that some of the songs do not seem to be in the original key so you can not play along with the track.
