4.0 out of 5 stars So you think you know your 80s music? 19 July 2009
Format:Paperback
With 1,500 questions spread over 300 pages covering a wide range of music topics, this will keep you entertained for hours and will surely settle that bet down the pub. From `Guess The Song', `No.1 Singles', `Synth/Electro', `Cover Versions', `Dance' and `One-Hit Wonders' there's something that will appeal to everyone, and that's just within the first 100 pages.
Each individual year is given a round of its own, as well as individual years dedicated to the albums released that year, so the complete decade is covered in minute detail. There are complete rounds on specific artists and groups including U2, Simply Red, Madness, Pet Shop Boys, Bucks Fizz, ZZ Top, and even a poignant round about the late great Michael Jackson.
Other interesting categories covered include `Match The Top 10 Group with Their Singer', `Duets', `Christmas Tunes', `Non Humans' and `Match The Group Member With Their Group', so no stone has been left unturned.
There's easy questions (Who starred in the film Sign O' The Times?), medium ones (Which act appeared in the Live Aid Shows in both London and Philadelphia?) and tricky ones (Which chart-topper was previously recorded as a b-side for Tina Turner?) so you will be tested.
So you think you know it all concerning `Lyrics', `TV and Film' or `U.S. Artists'? Well this book is the perfect companion whether it's a house party, a summer barbecue, or the local on a Friday night; it's the best value for money around. Now, which capital city had a 1986 chart-topping act named after it?
