Good book that starts with the basics and swiftly progresses to more advanced topics. Ideally the book is suited to beginners but intermediate users will find the information presented helpful.

I was looking for a book to learn more about Ubuntu server, and to go beyond the freely downloadable Ubuntu Server Guide. While this book is easier to read, it is very superficial on some key aspects (setting up a website with Apache2 or windows sharing, backup using conventional tools), and dwelves in detailed explanations on less common tools (e.g. BackupPC).

As a result, it is neither a great book for beginners nor for advanced users (the Server Guide is better for the latter, and arguably comparable for beginners), although there will be some aspects of interest for both types of users.
