The Octonauts series from Meomi is fantastic and you can understand why the now popular books have been turned into a fantastic cartoon series. My children love the characters as they are all based on animals that help other creatures who are sick or hurt. Each one assumes a role in the crew on board a submarine base under the sea. The books are so colourful and well written that the children have not been able to put them down since Christmas.
A big hit with any child from age 2-5 male or female and a real find for us.

My two children (4yrs and 7yrs) both love the Octonauts, we did watch the TV programme first so these original books are a little different. I find them a bit weirder and darker than the TV programme, but I actually like them even more for this. I did look at one of the new books that are based on the TV episodes and they are no where near as good as the original ones.

We have 3 of the original books and they are firm favourites for bedtime stories. The pictures are very detailed and interesting, it really holds their attention while we read the story and they ask lots of questions. The books are imaginative and at the same time teach the important lessons usually found in children's books (be nice to each other, it's fine to be different etc).
