Product Description

Science Fiction, paranormal suspense and wartime intrigue meet in this pacy story of a simple man with a unforseen destiny.
Albert Fox is a demoralised young medic fighting in the heart of what was to be known as the 'Battle of the Bulge'. Isolated from their command, Albert’s squad encounter hostile German forces amongst increasingly bizarre conditions and are forced to take refuge in a ram-shackled cottage whose custodian is a seemingly eccentric and mute old man. Albert is forced to make heart wrenching decisions which will not only affect the lives of his own friends but also the German soldiers with whom he encounters.
Trapped within the environs of the forest, Albert is forced to accept that as strange events and unexplained phenomena begin to reveal the true nature of Alberts universal importance, it is his destiny to determine the future of Mankind.

Great first book! 1 Dec 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This is a really tight, atmospheric little book. Would make a fantastic stage play as there are few characters and it is set within very few scenes, however, the dialogue and the description is superb. If this is this guys first attempt at a novel, then he may have a great future.

I have now read most of Davison's novels and have reached his first last. I must say that this is slighty shorter than his others but is a superbly written story with a magical ending.
The plot revolves around a young soldier in the second World War. It's refreshing to read about a British soldier actually instead of the usual American influences that have been present since the youth of today were reminded about the horrors of war by Saving Private Ryan and Call of Duty!
There are few characters and my overwhelming feeling is that this would work very well as a stage play. The characters are very human and I quickly related to each of them. The author maintains an air of suspense throughout, i must admit when the plot thickens at the death, it falls in to place well and it is an emotional finale.
Where the author excels are the scenes of conflict and horror, the action is fast paced and the horror is quite tangible.
I have now read all Davison's books (i think) and i'm impressed. A few typo's here and there do not detract from what is a really fine start to a writing career and i would urge other readers to give his books a go. A cut above other indie writer's i have read.

A debut book for Jonathan but full of promise for what is to come.A refreshing mix of sci fi and wartime with a hint of darkness.Mans fear of the unknown and natural curiousity to explore space are brought together in a past and future story of genetics and manipulation of man.Is there hope for the future of mankind?
