Synopsis
Something sinister is at work in Hyde River, an isolated old mining town in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. Something evil. "The Oath" is a great book about sin and the saving power of Jesus. The story is well told as are all of Frank Peretti's books. Heart pounding action and a good way to make one stop and think about the effects of sin on one own's life. The book is a bit slow at first, but the pace picks up real fast. It was truly hard to put this book down!

I have read This Present Darkness, Piercing The Darkness and The Prophet. This book has Mr. Peritte's style and craft at keeping you in suspense down to the last page. After reading the teaser from the Visitation, I want to get this book too. Keep on writing Frank.

Having read 'This Present Darkness' and 'Piercing the Darkness'also by Frank Peretti this was a total change of style yet just as gripping. Once I had got into the story (his books take a little while setting the scene)I could not put the book down and felt swept up in the fast moving storyline and emotions of the characters.
