I thoroughly enjoy reading this to my 4 and 5 year old girls who are entranced by the story and beautiful Nicki Palin illustrations. Parents will appreciate the Carl Larsson colours and characterful faces, and children will be enchanted by the picture detail and the story, told with just enough romanticism and at a perfect length for bedtime. A delightful book for small children who like magical dreams and happy endings, an essential book for little girls who already enjoy ballet.
