About the Author

Professor Leonard is author of over two hundred wide ranging scientific papers, which include a technique now used to safeguard the ozone layer. This helped his University secure the Queen’s Anniversary prize, presented at Buckingham Palace. Lifelong fascinations have been science, religion and the future. These interests were combined in a series of novels, now revised and enhanced whose titles included The Nostradamus Inheritance, and Omega. The novels were well received worldwide, and even found translation into Japanese and Hindi. Professor Leonard has appeared frequently on radio and television to discuss the boundaries between science and religion, and gave the Cardinal Newman Lecture at Oxford University in 1986. More recently he has published a collection of poems, entitled Pearls Along The Path.

More About the Author

Raymond Leonard: Scientist, Novelist, Poet or Latter-day Prophet?

Raymond Leonard was born during an air-raid on the centre of Manchester, in which his parent's home was destroyed. As a youth, in the city slums, he devised many ways of helping the family budget, including being a newspaper boy and running a fruit and vegetable stall on bombed land. Having left school at 14, he went on to win a State Scholarship and then a Ph.D. After a Senior Industrial Career he joined the academic staff at Manchester University. Here he founded his own department of Total Technology, which won the Queen's Anniversary Prize presented at Buckingham Palace. During his academic career he supervised numerous doctoral students, wrote over 200 research papers in science and engineering and a textbook on Applied Technology. He also co-authored the book 'How to Avoid The British Disease' which the then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher referred to as being her 'little Bible'.

Lifelong passions for Professor Leonard are science, religion and the future. These interests inspired a series of futuristic novels. When the Daily Express was reviewing The Nostradamus Inheritance it carried the headline 'Scientist Predicts The Day The World Will End'. This caused widespread concern in the UK. The headline also helped the book hit the best seller lists, and even find translation into Japanese and Hindi. This public concern for the future was heightened when Professor Leonard's own predictions in The Nostradamus Inheritance started to become chillingly fulfilled. Other predictions in subsequent novels, such as the immediate collapse of the Soviet Union, as forecast in Legacy of The Shroud, now titled The Jesus Clone, added to his growing reputation as a Latter-day Prophet. This prophetic image resulted in Professor Leonard giving the Cardinal Newman Lecture at Oxford University. Here the title was 'Reconciling Prophesy With Freewill'. It was noted that the Old Library was filled to capacity for Professor Leonard's presentation.

All Raymond Leonard's five novels, recently revised by the author, are now available on Amazon/Kindle. There is also an Amazon edition of the complete collection of his poems (published or otherwise). A selection of these poems are freely available for reading on his website, www.rayondleonard.com. The poems, entitled, Pearls Along The Path, bridge the wrongly perceived divide between Science and Faith. They also give a vision of the world that awaits ourselves and our fragile Earth.

No doubt deep within the kindle collection of books many a masterpiece lies hidden. This is one and I have unearthed it a truly intruigeing story, great characters, and an ending to chill the marrow!!! All Nostradamus followers and even those who are not will find it impossible to put this book down and therefore I cannot reccommend it too highly, and I just hope that when I read the authors other books they match upto this one!!!

I have read and re-read this many times. This book will have you gripped right until the truly terrifying end. One thing I have noticed though, the original book has been revised/'tweaked', from the holocaust occuring in August/September, to it now occuring in December (Shades of 2012?). However, this is one of those 'Gems' that is chanced upon once in a while. Very fast paced, which leaves the reader wanting more. This WOULD make a great film!!

This book is nothing short of brilliant; it captures the readers' imagination from the beginning, throwing you into a maelstrom of "fact", fiction and "what if". It is beautifully scary, utterly believable and wonderfully orchestrated. This is the first book I have read of this author but I will be seeking out others of his books to check as to whether they are as good as this.

This was my first Raymond Leonard book and I thoughly enjoyed it. It had an unusual story with great pace. Once you start it you cant put it down. Its a great book for holidays laying by a pool. Its light but intelligent and easy to follow with an unusual ending, it makes a pleasant change from what nowadays appears all the new adventure books involve CIA agents and undercover assassination plots. I have started another one of his and hope that it is equally enthrawling.

I enjoyed this book, more than I thought I might by its mixed reviews. There were a few type-os but nothing that distracted me too much. The author had obviously done his research on Nostradamus and his works, and this helped in giving the storyline credibility. I found it a good read.

The last time I read a book containing 'Nostradamus' in the title was while in College, so I was a little cautious. I was not disappointed! Just like the other two books I've read by this Author ( Mandalay and Legacy of the Shroud paperback). I was taken on a journey that didn't just end with the final page read. The Nostradamus Inheritance is complex enough to get you excited to read on and easy enough to pick up while on the train to grab 20 minutes, without having to backtrack a few pages to familiarise yourself.

I enjoyed this story. It's timing was good given the slight possibility that the world was going to end a few days after I finished it.
Some of the characters, and their motivations are not fully explored. However It was sufficiently well written that it made me keep turning the (electronic) pages and that's all I ask of a novel.
I would freely recommend this to anyone who wants a suspension of reality while enjoying a good read.
