This is a very daring attempt to expose a very corrupt and dangerous medical establishment. To the detriment of patients, the majority of doctors opt to 'keep their heads down' to secure their individual career advancement. It is clear from this book that doctors in the NHS are not encouraged to consider their patients needs first. Patients do not come first or even second, as many are being left to die due to the lack of basic medical equipment and shear neglect. It is very shocking that Rachel Radcliffe has been subjected to years of targetted harassment by a ruthless management simply because she care about her patients. This book is a 'must read' for all doctors and medical students, as well as anyone with relatives in an NHS hospital.

5.0 out of 5 stars A hard price to pay for bravery 9 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Rachel Radcliffe's account of an honest and ethical doctor's struggle in a fundamentally corrupt ward rings unfortunately and harshly true of our government services. With the present government about to make bigger spending cuts, the situation is only grimly set to get worse. The saddest part of this story is that justice has yet to be done and while this might not seem much of a comfort to people like Dr. Rita Pal, there is much evidence to suggest that walking the path of truth will ultimately be respected by all. You only have to look at how the world now views Mandela and Gandhi as opposed to Hitler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whistleblower extraordinaire 8 July 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Whistleblowing is a little like the NHS, much admired but rarely imitated. It takes guts and determination, to live some peoples lives.

This is a fast moving and entertaining tale of life as it is behind the rose tinted spectacles that colour our view of the NHS. This is topical, not least in the light of current events which are beginning to show how corrupt our democracy has become. In a reasonable world, people would be praised for drawing attention to areas where care and services can be improved. Instead we live in a world where everyone wants to cover their back, and as long as everything is in place when they leave at 5.00pm they can go home, drink a glass or two of wine and sleep soundly. Perhaps not....

We need more books like this - well done!
