All in all I really do like these shoes as they are comfortable and supportive. Currently I'm now on my second pair for the same fault, that being the Gortex waterproofing failing in the toe area of the right hand shoe. To the retailers credit, these have been already replaced once without hassle, but I wouldn't buy this model again for relying on the waterproofing aspect. Its a real shame as otherwise these would be the best on the market.

Great shoes for a decent price. Bought a pair for my dad and they are hardy and great for trail walking. They also wear nicely and last for awhile. Will purchase again.
Delaminates in 5 monts, Got a new, but same thing in 3 weeks

In five months after I bought the Ultra 105, I was shocked to see my outer sole delaminate. I turned it into the store to send the shoes to the warranty department. TNF graciously got me a new pair and it seems like the shoes are more comfortable than before. Unfortunately, it's only 3 weeks when I noticed there are signs of peeling again.
Not sure if this is a global problem for all TNF footwear.
My co-worker had mentioned that he has a friend with a pair of TNF shoes that delaminated in short time as well.
Although I have not worn Ultra 106, by looking at the close up in the photos on the REI site, I noticed the midsole and outer sole has poor craftsmanship as well.
I asked TNF to get me a different model since this one is not working out. But for the 3rd time, I got the Ultra 105 GTX XCR, we'll see if this pair holds up.

I ordered a size 11. These shoes are VERY comfortable & durable. I am outdoors a lot & cannot rely on any other shoe or brand. Northface has always done me well. I am off trail as well as in water quite a bit since I love to fish & berry pick in Alaska. These shoes contour to your feet & keep them nice & cool while also providing protection.
