Very Comfortable 9 Jan. 2013

Colour Name: Mudpack Brown/Bombay BrownSize Name: 10 UK 2E Verified Purchase
Comfortable, Warm, Light. These three words best describe this boot. Yes, it fits snug, and you should buy one size larger than your shoe size. The snug fit is from the insulation in the toe part of the shoe. I have tried other brands like Colombia, Kamik, Sorel, etc. and none feel as comfortable as this. With the others I found them to have little cushioning in the sole and very stiff which makes them hard to walk/drive in. The first thing you notice when wearing the shoe is the plush insulation lining. It hugs your foot, keeping it warm and your toes will not go cold. The shoe has a comfortable insole, is light weight (noticeably more so than the competitve brands), and offers flexability around the ankle without compromising water resistance. A great buy.

Way Way too Small in size 17 Nov. 2012
By Anthony R. Ciliberti - Published on
Can Not understand how this boot can be made this small. I am a 9.5 size and could not fit comfortably into a size 11. Also, if you have a wide foot this boot will not work for you. This boot would be a nice boot if it were made to size and came in a wider width. If you have a medium size width go at least one size up. If your foot is wide you may have to go up 2 sizes. I would try the Columbia snow trek wide and go up a 1/2 size.

NOT TRUE TO SIZE 11 Nov. 2012

This seems to be a well made boot, but I order a half size up after reading the review and it was STILL too small. These run TOO SMALL, Unfortunately will have to return, not sure if we will reorder a bigger size at this moment. Seller should have this disclosed that these are NOT TRUE TO SIZE.

FELL APART while hiking in snow 6 Jan. 2015
By D. Coral - Published on
I was walking around in the snow carrying our toddler when suddenly I felt like I was wearing nothing but socks. I looked down and I couldn't believe it -- these North Face boots SPLIT IN HALF and I had to end our adventure short and go back to the car with cold and wet feet. I only used these lightly for 6 years, with less than 5 miles on the boots total over this period. The rest of the time I kept them in a shoe box in the closet. These boots feel stiff compared to other boots on the market that are more comfortable, but I figured that extra stiffness (and the North Face brand name) means that they are more durable. But it turns out quite the opposite. After the boots broke apart I looked at the label: Made in China. North Face has been one of my favorite brands for my mountain clothing (I have North Face ski clothing from 15 years ago, I still use today and looks like new) so it is unfortunate to see that they are risking their brand name by Made in China quality. I'm sure they will replace these Chinese boots under the lifetime warranty, but if this happens when you are on a long hiking trail in freezing conditions they're not going to send replacement boots out there when you need them the most.

Excellent warmth and waterproof. Make sure you break in the boots. 12 Jan. 2014
By Jon - Published on
I read many reviews of this boot running very small. I wear an 11.5 and ordered a 12. When I first got them and tried them on they did feel snug and tight but after wearing them twice the insulation and padding broke in and now they are super comfortable and fit great with room to spare. These boots kept my feet super warm with our recent record lows of - 17 witht - 40 wind chills. The heat seeker primaloft is super warm. These boots are great in the slush too as they were completely waterproof. As long as you wear these boots a couple times to break them in you will be very happy. They fit like a ski boot at first but now I can slide in and out of them with ease and I am very happy with their fit and performance. No need to wear a heavy wool sock in these boots as they are that warm. If you wear a thin ski sock or wicking sock your feet will love you. Big thick socks for warmth have gone the way of the dodo. Order a half size up and you should be good. Great traction with the aggressive ice pick lugs too.
