This is a good pictorial book that is ruined by poor presentation. For a start it should have been at least A3 wide, the best pictures cover more than one page having their integrity destroyed, there is no index and finally who ever thought of inset maps being black on black. It is about time Thames and Hudson took a shine to themselves.
Following an introduction there are 7 chapters covering various sections of the Nile from its source in Lake Uganda to the Mediterranean-all of which are well written. The pictures are mainly excellent but there are a few that should never have seen the light of day.
