The Night Sky Month by Month was a good introduction to start star-gazing for beginners. I liked the depiction of the sky as the night goes on (what you can see at 9pm is not the same as what you see at 5am)

I have bought this as a gift for my parents after reading other reviews and I'm not disappointed. I had been concerned it might be a 'children's book' but after reading reviews that suggested otherwise took the plunge. I haven't studied the book in detail as it's not for me, but I'm impressed by the layout, text, pictures. I love the fact that it's in chronological order so at any given time you can flick to the relevant page and know what to look for. My parents - who are amatuers in terms of astronomy but say they will look to get more into it as they retire - will love this book, and I think it will get plenty of use as well. It's also fantastic value - it's a large book and hard backed. I'm impressed, thanks Amazon.

This is a lovely reference book and great for referring to when you want to have a look at the stars. It's nice to see how the sky changes over the year and what you can expect to see from month to month.
