United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), SPECIAL FEATURES: Black & White, Interactive Menu, Remastered, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: At a fashionable dinner party in Hong Kong a pilot is coaxed into revealing details of a dream in which eight persons take off from Bangkok in a Dakota bound for Tokyo and crash in the Japanese mountains. Amongst those listening is Air Marshal Hardie who is due to fly to Tokyo the next day. Hardie initially dismisses the dream because he is scheduled to fly out in a Liberator, but as Hardie arrives at the airport he discovers that the Liberator has developed mechanical problems and has been replaced by a Dakota. When, just before the flight is due to depart, two soldiers board the plane making a complement of eight, Hardie fears that the Dream may be coming true and he is destined to die. Night my Number Came Up 13 April 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is one of those films that once you have seen it, you don't forget it. I was a teenager when it was released in 1955 but I found it just as intriguing today as I did then. I had been searching for this film for years and am delighted that it made it to DVD and that Amazon decided to stock it. Many of the actors were stars of the day, Michael Hordern, Michael Redgrave, Alexander Knox, Nigel Stock, Denmholm Elliot, even a cameo of Alfie Bass, and more. The film centres around a dream, and as the film progresses, each part of the dream begins to manifest itself. The film itself is a lovely piece of nostalgia - I hadn't realised a Dakota was so noisy! Thoroughly recommended to film buffs everywhere.

TOP FLIGHT 6 Aug 2010
Format:DVD
Well, this film is excellent and not to be missed by anyone who is enthusiastic about aircraft and top notch British actors. A great story that in fact, would appeal to many. I'd add that any movie featuring Victor Maddern is invariably worth watching.

Grail territory 16 Oct 2010

This wonderful black n' white film pulls no punches and will have all of a certain age gripping the arms of your seat in a buttock-clenching white knuckle ride as you are plunged into the terror of premonition made flesh... If you are afraid of flying then this is definately not for you....
Long awaited; lovers of 'Dead of Night' will find this classic Britflick too good too miss.
If only I could find the british b&w portmanteau film where a man sees a painting in a gallery with a light in the window..now that would be real horrorshow.
