My little boy is 11 months and now he's mobile he seems to be starting to find relaxing and calming down at bedtime harder than when he was a bit younger. We've always had a "bath", "bottle", "bed" routine but now we've introduced "book" to this (between "bottle" and "bed"!) things have improved dramatically and when we put him straight in his bed after we've read this through twice he'll go straight off to sleep without us needing to go back in to him for any comfort or resettling. Brilliant!

For all except the last page the book follows the general format of having a bedtime scene on the left page and then a few specific objects from this scene on the right page, with one of the objects being textured or touchy-feely in some way. This keeps him interested enough to sit through me reading this to him at least twice...And he's very cute doing his duck impression! His favourite pages seem to be the ones with the curtains and the sleeping birds underneath and the last page where the boy is in his bed with his blue blanket over him. He can touch the curtains and the blanket which he compares to his own blue, fluffy blankee!

I can imagine this book will continue to appeal to him as he gets older and I can begin to ask him to show me where the kitty is on each page or point out where in the scene each of the specific objects are.

Some kids rhyming books leave you cringing with their wordings but this is written really well and I quite enjoy reading the rhymes out loud to my son (and his daddy who has lap duty at story time!).

I bought this book for my 13 month year old and he loves it. It is such a beautiful book. Great illustrations and lots of soft things to touch. The blanket and curtains are a great idea as they reinforce it is bedtime. I keep his bedtime stories upstairs and this is amongst them. The rhyme and rhythm of the words is very relaxing and actually applies to his bedroom. A great book, one I'll recommend to everyone!

Simply sweet and lovely book
Beautiful colours, beautiful rhymes ideal for night time or fussy babies that cannot sleep that easy
fun pages with the sense a touch to be discovered by exploring the book itself.
I simply love when I m reading it and my baby smiles back at me :)

Highly recommended!
