Product Description

Product Description

It's hard when you have to share everything with your baby brother. Tofta doesn't want to at all. So when an iceberg drifts past her window, she decides that it's her iceberg and she's not going to share it with anyone. But when five hundred playful penguins turn up, Tofta finds that sharing can be great fun, too. A funny, atmospheric story about learning to share. With stunning, fresh illustrations by the author/illustrator of the award-winning FLEABAG.

This book is about a little girl learning the benefits of sharing and that it is not always the most rewarding to just keep everything to yourself. It is especially relevant for children having new baby brothers or sisters because this character is initially upset at having to share with her new baby brother. The story is told in quite an original way involving the little girl having a trip out onto the iceberg at night and learning from the penguins she meets.

I read this book with my 2 year old boy and we both enjoyed it, he has a baby brother himself so I felt this story was relevant to him and I would go back to it again as it is a good positive message to reinforce as well as being an enjoyable story with lots of nice pictures (the illustration style looks like hand drawn pencil crayon type style which I liked.)

This book is slightly longer than some of the others my son has but still kept his attention, so I think it is a good one for parents wanting to introduce slightly longer bedtime stories.

A very imaginative and beautifully illustrated book. I bought it for my three year old daughter but my six year old son was captured too when I read it to her. It's all about sharing but, above all, it's a lovely, original story.

A sweet little story 25 Jun 2011
By Hazel
Format:Paperback
I've enjoyed reading this book to my 2-year-old many times. We borrowed it from the library, and Rosie asked to read it so many times, we knew we'd need our own copy. It has a very lovely message about a little girl learning to share with her baby brother. I love the way my little girl says "Tofta", which is the character's name. Rosie is a big fan of penguins (thanks to Jill Tomlinson's "Penguin's Progress") so it's no surprise this book is a hit with her! It makes a good bedtime story, and it fits the bill any time your little one feels like curling up in your lap with a book.
