Great book that prepared my (now) two year old son for his birthday party. It's cleverly illustrated and written so that you never see the narrating child's face so it could be about a boy or a girl. I love all the books by this author in the night before series (we also have the night before Easter, Father's Day and Thanksgiving).

Natasha Wing delivers an exciting, fun-filled book that children will love. The author pens a birthday story that invites the children to read, and enjoy. This story will light up any child's eyes in excitement, as it inspires and motivates from beginning to end. The author highlights that a 'birthday' may not be a holiday, but for children, it's the best day of the year. How true it is, and as I read on, this delightful story reminded me so much of all the birthday parties I had for my daughters for many years. The beautiful memories do live on.

This fun-filled story tells about the anticipation of a young child, waiting for the big day to come. The rhyming verse throughout invites the young reader to share the joy of this celebration from the night before, until the party ends. The colorful characters compliment this fun story as they come to life, while showing the excitement of a birthday party with friends, and family.

The birthday party finally begins, after more ice cream had to be purchased at the store. The children enjoy the balloons, streamers, cake, ice cream and more. The beautiful birthday song is sung, and everyone shares the joy of watching all the surprise gifts be opened. Natasha Wing inspires young children to read the fun story, and share their thoughts with friends, and family. Motivating, inspiring, and educational. Highly recommended to parents, teachers, and child-care providers!

My Birthday. Time to Party. 18 Jan 2014
By Mymcbooks - Published on
Format: Paperback
My Review: What could be better than sharing your birthday with your friends! And what makes a good birthday? Balloons, cake, ice creams, candies, fun hats, toot horns and lot of presents

The big day has arrived; mom and dad set the table with party napkins and plates. The party favors are ready to give each guest. Everything is set but what could go wrong? Nothing that can’t be fixed! It’s time to have fun, open presents, make a wish and sing Happy Birthday Day.

This is a wonderful addition to any child's library as the story is beautifully told by Natasha Wing, author of the Night Before series and the illustration by Any Wummer are vibrant, colorfull and warm which helps tell the story. The story is simple and easy for young ones to understand. This will make a great birthday gift for a young child.

FTC Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. I was not monetarily compensated for my opinion in any way.

Kristi's Book Nook 9 April 2014
By Kristi Bernard - Published on
Format: Paperback
A young boy is very excited. Soon he will celebrate another birthday. There will be balloons and party favors, along with gifts from friends. For him, its not a holiday but it is the best day of the year. When that day finally arrives and the house is all decorated a giant mishap occurs. All of the ice cream and some balloons have become a disaster on the kitchen floor. But there is no need to panic.

Mom checked in the freezer.
“We don't have any more.”
“Come on, birthday kid,” said Dad.
“Let's go to the store.”
Away to the market, we made a mad dash,
grabbed cartons of ice cream,
and checked out in a flash.

Will the birthday boy and his dad make it home in time for the party? You'll have to read this delightful story to see.

Book was great but................ 28 Mar 2014

I am very happy with the content of the book. My granddaughter loved it. The thing I was very unhappy about was that it came in such a large envelope that the book was all bent and looked horrible. I bought it for my granddaughter for part of her birthday present and it looked like an old book I had pulled from the garbage. I was very, very unhappy about that. I tried to flaten it out but it was all creased and bent.
