A GREAT READ 30 Sep 2009
Format:Hardcover
After reading Melody Beattie's first book, I definitely liked this book much better. The book was less focused on people in relationships with alcoholics and more about co-dependency itself. It was very inspirational and quite spiritual at times as well. I started underlining helpful quotes but after a while it seemed like I was underlining everything. Definitely a great read for anyone struggling with co-dependency issues.

Following on from the sanity contained within her previous books on the subject of codependency this latest offering from Melody Beattie brings the concerns and behaviours associated with the illness bang up to date, from the effect of mobile phones on extreme codependents (you no longer need to sit by the phone waiting for a phonecall - you can now carry your phone with you and spend 24/7 obsessing!) to issues surrounding controlling behaviours and the latest research into codependency and coaddiction.

A fascinating, eye opening and life saving book for anyone who struggles to work out where they 'end' and the rest of the world begins.

By Ms. L. Walters VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
I never would have concidered this book if it hadnt been for my american friend urging me to. It was money well spent I felt like this book was written for me. I do try to fix people and am floored when things turn out wrong. I am drawn to people who seam broken, who I think I can help. but you never can. All the men who you think you can save. you cant. this book shows you how to re set your boundries so you wont be so hurt in the future, It had already stared to give me confidance following the advice laid out. its not a preachy book nore is it overly american its not about asking god for help or asking anyone for anything. codependants are not victims. I really wish I had read this book years ago but I guess the right information comes to you at the right time.
