I would recommend this book to anybody new(ish) to acrylics. If you want to stop regarding acrylics as mimic alternatives to oils and start understanding them as a completely new medium full of exciting possibilities of their own, then this is the book for you! It is a comprehensive guide through the mind-boggling range of paint types and media that will take a lot of the guesswork out of choosing what you need to achieve the effects you are looking for.

Finally an up to date (2005) comprehensive manual to acrylics, as a fine art lecturer students always ask for book recommendations and I won't hesitate with this one. Easy to follow and full of advice, excellent refrence book.

This is an excellent book covering not only acrylic paints but also the various acrylic mediums and how to use them. Clear step by step instructions and lots of wonderful examples. Invaluable as a reference book.

It is not good
Honestly one of the worst book buys. The subjects it covers is not good presented. You can find everything is has in internet in a much more explainable form. I regret buying it.
