This is a fabulous in depth review of nettle weaving in Nepal. It explains the production method of this unique fabric and goes on the say how it is made into a wide range of items. The book is beautifully illustrated and is a fascinating read. Great for any textile enthusiast or designer looking for an unusual fabric.

Happy memories 7 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
I am so glad to see this book is still available. I participated in this Nettle Project in 1986, staying three weeks to work with the Nepal women who were taking part. This project was established in the village of Dhankuta in the Kosi Hills, Nepal. I introduced to them an inkle loom and how to use it. The book is an excellent record of the process of the fiber. It brings back such happy memories of my time there.

A nice book with excellent photos. If you are interested in bast fibers, fiber processing, or cultural textile traditions this makes a nice addition to the libray but you can find it in print in Britan at GeorgeWeil dot com for about 16 dollars.
