I borrowed this from the library and just had to have it. The colour illustrations are well done, as are the written directions. It covers needle point, embroidery, quilting, knitting and crochet. It would be great for beginners and intermediates in any of the skills, and even experienced craftspeople would benefit from the demonstration and description of the stitches in all crafts. It sits next to my chair and is looked at for interest and to follow directions. A real pleasure to have, and I would not hesitate to buy another for my daughter or friend wishing to learn a new skill or improve an existing one. I have bought alot of knitting and crochet help books this year as I am a self taught knitter and crocheter (daughter does the needle point and embroidery!), and had I found this one a year ago I really would not have bothered with the others had I realised.

This book is very, very good. I am a absolutly beginner and I found the text descriptions, as well as the pictures very clear and helpful. It costs normaly (in a book shop) 25,- , so hier is the price also good. The book contains Knitting, Crochet, Embroidery, Needlepoint, Patchwork & Quilting, Finishing.

From all the books I've viewed on Amazon, I got this one and I'm more than happy. This book is exceptional for its clearness of every single stich (with lines and directions of stiches), it has directions of patterns not only in schemes, but also in words (other books have only one of them). It is also extremely "tasty" to read, it's DK quality afterall... What I missed a little bit was some models of crafts (e.g., large wraps or bedthrows), it is more theoretical and concentrated on detail, but I guess after learning the details you are free to create bigger things. All in all - superb quality and clearness.
