The Natural Year 4 Jun 2007
By Sherry
Format:Paperback
I read (and re-read!) this book many years ago and it inspired me and filled me with great hope. After loaning the book to several friends it eventually found a new home and I hope someone is now enjoying it as much as I did then! The most meaningful part of the book for me was the first few chapters about how we have lost touch with the seasons and with nature... The philosophy now seems so simple, yet it so meaningful...

A helpful and interesting book about natural therapies. 13 Jan 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a great book for anyone wanting to learn about a wide range of natural therapies. It's really practical too as it tells you what treatment is best used at which time of year. I found it incredibly useful and have already followed some of the advice offered. It's well laid out, easy to follow and yet filled with interesting facts. I thought I knew quite a bit about natural therapies but The Natural Year proved me wrong. The author obviously knows her subject well and has the skill to pass on her knowledge in an interesting and thorough way. Even people who feel natural therapies are not for them will find something of interest in this book. And hopefully they'll be healthier and happier as a result.

Great resource! 6 Sep 2003
By merrymousies - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I've been trying to live more in tune with the rhythm of the earth and this book has really opened my eyes. The chapters are set up as follows:
Spring: The Season of the Body
Summer: The Season of Emotions
Autumn: The Season of the Mind
Winter: The Season of the Soul
Each chapter detauils ideas for each month so its 12 months worth of activities as well as introductions to certain festivals. The book pulls together a great variety of Eastern and Pagan ideas. I love it!

Like 'coming home'... 25 Feb 2005
By ~ Sam - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
You hear so often that a book changed someone's life... this book really has changed mine! Reading Jane Alexander is like sitting at the kitchen table having coffee with a friend.
The book is layed out by season, with readings and 'homework' for each month. It's all about living your life aligned with the seasons. For example: we all make resolutions for New Years Day, but really in the middle of winter instinctively we would like to curl up and 'comfort' ourselves and 'ponder' our lives. In Spring, however our natural instinct is to clean up our homes, 'detox' our bodies and make some changes. We naturally become more active as it warms up outside and have a brighter outlook and are ready for a challenge (resolution)!
I have always felt most 'spiritual' when connecting with nature and living my life aligned to the seasons makes total sense! Reading this book has lead me down the path my body and soul have been searching for - Physical and Spiritual alignment with Nature!
I re-read each month year after year and highly reccommend this book!
