Leslie Nielsen retells his life story, eye opening, fascinating and totally made up! The book is full to the brim with witty anecdotes about his childhood and great stories about how he's put other actors and celebrities in their place. It is essentially the world according to Leslie Nielsen and what a funny place it would be too! It is an extremely hard book to get your hands on so if you are a Leslie Nielsen fan and the chance comes up to get it then do. A truly hilarious book. But be warned THIS IS NOT A BIOGRAPHY!

HASH(0x9cfef1bc) out of 5 stars Neither Naked nor the Truth, But Hilarious 1 Feb. 2004
By JMack - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
I love the comedies that Leslie Nielsen has made over the years including the Airplane! series and The Naked Gun series. When I saw a copy of this book at a used bookstore, it attracted my interest. I thought it was an actual biography until I started reading through it.
Nielsen writes a fictitious acount of his career in The Naked Truth, and the result in very funny book. The story sees him narrowly missing out on the legendary roles in Hollywood or finding some other way to escape notoriety. For example, his story of being in Lawrence of Arabia as Lawrence's lover is laugh out loud funny. His reason for not actually being in the film is because the scene ended up on the editing room floor. There are numerous movie stories like this throughout the book. Nielsen also discusses his influence on other entertainers including Elvis and James Dean. The tall tales don't stop at his love life, as Nielsen discusses all of his wives and lovers.
There are plenty of puns, wise cracks, and one-liners as we have come to expect from Nielsen in this book. I completely enjoyed reading this book. Despite the fact that this book is over ten years old, it is still a treasure for fans of Nielsen.

HASH(0x9cfef210) out of 5 stars Hilarious! 5 Aug. 2011
By Jon M - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
Pretty much every paragraph in this book is filled with a hilarious pun of some sort, definitely the sort of humor that you'd expect from Leslie Nielsen, I could practically imagine him giving his internal dialogue in the same way he did with the Naked Gun. Yeah it's fictional, but absolutely hilarious! They should've made a biopic movie from this! To the other reviewers who complained about this book being fictional, have a sense of humor about it. That being said, an actor like Nielsen deserves some kind of biography about his life because I'm certain his true story is pretty interesting as well.

A real biography from Leslie Nielsen? Really, is that what you expected. Oops, guess you were wrong. This is an awesome book concerning one of the best comedic icons of the 20th and first part of the 21st century. It is humorous. It is a good read. Comedy of Nielsen put to words. If you like him then you've got to like his book. Great comedic read!
