This is better for warming up female voices.
I found it more useful for the mid and higher ranges of my voice than the lower, as it focuses very little on the lower range. it goes farely high at one point, but doesn't push you too far above your comfort zone.
I do this warm up in my car when i'm driving to my band practice.
Some of the warm ups are a bit annoying, as some have an example before the exercise, and others don't.
And there's one or 2 exercises i tend to skip. (One that i just cant get the hang of the "fla fli falfliflafla!" ing.)
I found the breathing exercises at the beginning aren't that good, as they expect you to have lungs the size of a mule, and then ask you to hold it at the top, now my singing teacher said you shouldnt be holding you breath and then letting it out, it should be fluid. But each to their own.
I get the feeling that the singing teacher is someone who has damaged their singing voice, and has had to resort to teaching, as they dont have the most amazing voice in the world, but i find this comforting to practice to, as opposed to an intimidatingly good voice to sing along with!
All in all, its pretty good in my book.

This does not replace vocal training but is a very good companion to warm up the voice.
Exercises are simple and does what is says on the tin...WARMS the voice.
Very useful when have little time and need some guidance in warming the voice for a performance.

The range of exercises is good. Some are way more interesting than what I remember from decades of choir rehearsals!

Very Effective 12 Jan 2011
By Cheryl Conway - Published on Amazon.com
I have found these warm-up exercises to be very effective in exercising my vocal cords. Consistency counts, and the more consistently I use them, the better my vocal control becomes.

On Finding a Good Vocalise cd 20 Mar 2012
By Rev. Kate Murphy - Published on Amazon.com

Since I used to own two really wonderful vocalise cassette tapes, I was quite disappointed in this one. She obviously thinks her student is a total idiot. She stops the vocalise between every measure to tell you what to do, as if you are way too dumb to figure it out, or to just sing along.

I am using it and my voice is getting stronger - have figured out how to sing something over her chatter - so I'm grateful for it, but wish I had bought something better.

If anyone knows of a really good, fun warm-up/vocalise cd, please let me know.
