An iconic variety show that ran from 1976 to 1981, The Muppet Show was a masterpiece of puppetry and slapstick humour, as well as a showcase for the best musical and comic talent of its day. Season Three ran 1978-1979 and featured 26 famous guest stars, including Roy Clark, Pearl Bailey, Jean Stapleton, Harry Belefonte, Danny Kaye, Cheryl Ladd, Raquel Welch, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and Sylvester Stallone. Some of the most unique episodes of this series include: the Lynn Redgrave show, in which she and all the Muppets used the entire show to re-enact the story of Robin Hood; the Loretta Lynn episode, which was ostensibly filmed at the railroad station when the theatre was being fumigated; and the visual effects-laden Alice Cooper episode. Other notable moments include Liberace's performances of everything from a Chopin Nocturne to a Boogie Woogie piece, Gilda Radner's amusing musical rendition from Gilbert and Sullivan's operetta "Carrots of Penzance" (or was that "Parrots of Penzance," or "Pirates of Penzance?"), and Danny Kaye's appearance as the Swedish Chef's uncle. i keep it short!
Muppets Season 3 features plenty of crazyness, a good two dozens of fantastic guest stars like Harry Belafonte, Sylvester Stallone, Raquel Welch, Alice Cooper! Great musical numbers, it's just awesome!
the dvd itself comes in the best quality imaginable, with great bonus features, like original Purina Dog Food commercials starring Rowlf and Baskerville!

I bought this for my 3 year old son after introducing him and his sister (age 6), to some of the characters on You Tube. They particularly enjoy the skits featuring Beaker and Bunsen Honey Dew but are also very keen on Animal, Rawlf and Kermit. They really enjoy most of the sketches although some of the musical numbers have proven to be rather boring for them, Liberace springs to mind here. The fact they don't know who any of the special guests are doesn't bother them and watching it with them I realise it was probably the same for me when I watched it on t.v in the 70's. The comedy sketches are good enough to still be funny 30 years later. More than just a nostalgia purchase, I highly recommend this DVD.

A big kid at heart, I have bought this ready for when my daughter grows up - I loved it as a child and I hope she feels the same when she comes to watch it.

fozzies jokes never get old season 3 is TO DIE FOR and all the other are hillarious too.

Muppets - Timeless Classic!
I loved the Muppets in the 70's and 80's and now have intriduced my two boys to them and they love it too! It's great I can enjoy this all over again with the boys - timeless :-))
