Book Description

1 Jan 2011 Reloaded
Inanna's bored of being the goddess of love - how dull! When a volcano begins to make her people's lives a misery she decides to take it on. None of her brothers will help her so she faces it single-handedly, and her victory inspires her to become the goddess of war. Thrilling re-telling of an ancient Sumerian myth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kick-ass heroine 31 Jan 2011
By Colin
Format:Paperback
Inanna has to be the original and best kick-ass heroine. If you are sick of books where boys get all the fun and cool things to do this is a must. I think it is aimed at reluctant 11-13 year olds but it would also work for confident readers from 8 upwards. It sends a great message to girls (I have 2 daughters)that whatever you want is out there but you have to go and get it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not a princess 29 Mar 2011
By zavebe
Format:Paperback
A terrific antidote to all those Disney Princesses! Inanna does ask for help but when no one's that interested just gets out there and gets on with it herself. A good read for boys and girls alike (and the parents...)

5.0 out of 5 stars Girlpower lives 25 Feb 2013

Lari Don's reworking of this ancient [and for me little-known] folk tale is masterly and inspiring. At the end of the story ask yourself: 'are the mountains still afraid'.. they just might be!
