Product Description

Internationally known for his recontsructions of key military, naval and air battles throughout history, Alexander Mckee here tells the story of the much loved Mosquto largely through eye-wtness accounts. At first there was reluctance to fly such a high-speed wooden made aircraft, but it was to prove itself a thousand times over in the years that followed.

Excellent survey of reminiscences and anecdotes from those who designed, built, flew and fought the Mosquito in WWII and beyond. I tend to be a slow reader and don't often read a 250 page book in one afternoon, but the pace and enthusiasm of the book carried me through this one!

My only slight problem with the book (apart from wishing that I had done it first) is that it has not been brilliantly typeset or edited - apart from typos, there are many occasions where it's difficult to tell whether one is looking at an extended quotation or the narration, and if the former, who it is coming from - quite a lot of page-flipping to and fro. But this is a minor issue. Thoroughly recommended.
