A very comprehensive description. Worth every penny. Just the pictures could be of higher quality. Texts are easy to read - and you also learn something about the origins of Islam and the history of the Middle East and other regions.

I can warmly recommend the book. Because also the price is pretty fair

The Essential books for those interested in Mosques from around the world. although you need to approach the book as a scholarly work and not a "coffee table book"

I will point out that the photographs are in black and white and most are dated and text goes into architectural detail.

good but could be even better 7 May 2004
By Vladyslav Serdyuk - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The title is right and the books gives you a lot of not very deep information. But good as kind of catalogue. Authors missed a lot of regions. They took only well known to westeners. Somw great monuments are missed as well. But in general I would recommend to buy it for people who are interested in architecture and/or Islamic culture. Good photos.

Its an excellent book on mosque and Islamic architecture in general. I benefited quite a lot. However, much is needed on contemporary mosques.

Format: Paperback
THIS BOOK HAS REALLY NICE PHOTOS OF DIFFERENT MOSQUES IN THE WORLD OF ISLAM. MOST OF WHICH ARE VERY BEAUTIFUL. ONE CAN SORT OF EXPERIENCE THE PASSION THAT THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE FOR THEIR RELIGION AND LIFESTYLE BY VIEWING THE ARCHITECTURAL BEAUTY OF THESE MOSQUES.
