Product Description

Will Henry is an assistant to a doctor with a most unusual speciality: monster hunting! In the short time he has lived with the doctor, Will has grown used to late night callers and dangerous business. But when one visitor comes with the body of a young girl and the monster that was feeding on her, Will's world changes forever. The doctor has discovered a baby Anthropophagi - a headless monster that feeds through the mouthfuls of teeth in its chest - and it signals a growing number of Anthropophagi. Now, Will and the doctor must face the horror threatening to consume our world and find the rest of the monsters before it is too late...

Now I know its a kids book (supposedly) but I'm entering my second childhood and providing its a good story , well written , age is irrelevent . This is a good story nay even excellent .It has reminders of Clive Barker and has the feeling of an Edgar Allen Poe story , but it is definately written the way H P Lovecraft wrote . From the start there a growing sense of unease . Written from the perspective of 12 year old Will Henry the very atmosphere is disturbing . But the way it's written pulls you in deeper and deeper into the story .It gets more and more disturbing and the sense of evil grows .

A book to be read with the lights on and your feet off the floor . If you feel up to it ,then I recommend any of the books by H P Lovecraft . This is an excellent book , thoroughly recommended . Bring on more .

Great offering 4 Oct 2009
By Gareth Wilson - Falcata Times Blog TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
In short this is a book like no other. It's pretty unique on the YA market as its set in the 19th Century as new things are not only being discovered but covered up in this monster hunting extravaganza. Its quirky, its got some dark moments but above all it really brings the tale to life in an almost movie like way. The characterisation is fascinating and whilst you do tend to wonder about the Doctor within, the key character is an absolute delight to adventure with. Cracking novel and above all one that is an absolute corker of an opener to a new series. I'll be interested to see how it develops.

Fantastic 22 Dec 2010
Format:Paperback
I have never written a review before but after reading this book I wanted to share with others how fantastic it is, well paced, action packed and such a change from the horror these days with it being set in the 19th century. It has such a dark edge to it and you really get to share the experiance with Will Henry the 12 year old boy, I could not put this book down, I would recommend this to anybody into horror. I look forward to the next one on this start to a fantastic series....
