If you have heard any of the B-Boys previous albums, and enjoyed the intrumental tracks, The Mix-Up is a natural extension of these. Funky, groovy, mellow tunes which make up for the lack of lyrics with messages in the music itself.
Different moods, different instruments; each song is unique. There are up-tempo jams, sad ones, mellow ones, and eerie ones. They do not require a niche taste at all: it is simply good music by folks of good musical taste.
Of all the albums in my music collection, and there are many, of different genres and eras, The Mix-Up is my most-listened. I regularly leave it playing, looping endlessly: over two-hundred listens and I still do not tire.
I'm a big fan of the B-Boys lyrical style and rhymes. But a major reason for this is the backing music in their tracks. The Mix-Up allows this to take hold of you and take you on a far more sensual ride than you might think.
