This is a quality Compilation and contains some of the biggest monsters of the northern soul scene Heyday.
You cannot ignore such artist's as bob and earle, Bobby garret, The Olympics, Jackie Lee, and Mr Beatin Rhythm himself Richard Temple, Who incidentally are all the same bloke!! Well nearly!
Classic after classic on this CD. The the words Monster and stomper are vastly overused on the northern soul cicuit, but for a change not on this compilation.
A couple of years ago,KFC had adverts on the TV with soul music and one particular advert was of northern soul in a music shop and everyone loved the tune that goes with it but nobody knew what the song was called and who by.After some detective work :) i found it,it was Bobby Garrett `I can`t get away`.Brilliant song, brilliant singer,Mirwood Soul brilliant album.
Seems odd that 2 Volumes called The Mirwood Story miss out Harlem Shuffle. But this is actually the business and so much better than Philly Soul. Mirwood had a sub label called Mira which issued records by Carol Connors
