Most Helpful Customer Reviews

9 of 10 people found the following review helpful By David Bell on 15 Jan. 2012
Format: Paperback
This diary of a striking miner during the Great Strike of 1984-5 tells it like it was. The accounts of the daily picketing, getting up in the early hours, the worry about family members arrested, the police violence - occasionally reciprocated by the pickets - all combine to make a truly authentic history of the period. It is a wonderful primary source for any student of real history, the people's history.
