A little blue dynamo 14 Jan 2009
By L. Turk
I've never been one for tackling my issues, I'm more of a 'let's just see how it turns out' kind of girl. Until now! A friend of mine, obviously sensing my tendencies towards relationship procrastination, thrust this wonderous blue book into my hand and promised me I would love it. Well she was right (so right that I've been compelled to post my first ever review). I've never not read a book cover to cover before, so reading sections of this was strange at first, but dipping in when I need to is like going back to an old friend. Great stories, easy to understand, a fab online community and for someone who tends to stuff things in the back of her head to deal with 'later', it's pretty good at spurring you into action. All in all, I'd say my friend did me a favour!!

Just after I read this book (or the majority of it, you don't have to read it all to get the benefits!) one of my best friends finally admitted she wasn't happy in her relationship with her boyfriend of 2 years (they were always falling out). I went straight to the book. We worked through the Graceful Exit chapter together, and it helped her made the decision to leave him. It sounds like a sad story, but using all the tips from this book the break up was very smooth, unpleasant yes, but they both got a lot from it and are starting to come out the other side as stronger people - even in a matter of weeks!

This isn't the only useful chapter, it has really helped me take control of some tricky relationships I had at work and spot when I'm getting into psychological games. Thanks Mind Gym for a brilliant book - I need to buy it for a few more people I know!

I found the two previous Mind Gym books, Wake Your Mind Up and Give Me Time immensely interesting and informative, but the psychological insights in Relationships beats them both .
Full of useful advice and understanding of the common and frequent difficulties with relationships at work, plus the helpful deep comprehension and knowledge of domestic emotional problems, Relationships is absolutely first-class: because of its large subject coverage I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has contact with people, (all of us?) whatever the context.

Dipping into this excellent book will tell you much more about yourself, and others, than you imagined.
