5.0 out of 5 stars million pound propert experiment 27 Oct 2003
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
I must say this book comes as a surprise as there are so many property books on the market at the moment. The words by the authors are chatty and informative and the main editorial points are raised over and over again - you can make a FORTUNE from your home if you buy wisely. I have moved three times in as many years so i like to think I know the tricks of the trade but the two authors (previously known from Trading UP etc) are second to none. I have learned as much over several hours as i learned from three years experience. This is a must see book that explains every element of home buying and selling - the authors strong point is that they do it in a clear scholarly style. No fuss - just good money making information.

Honesty too is important and they explain the pitfalls and the success in equal measure.
Id reccomend this to anyone who wants to get the best from their biggest asset. Fortune favours the brave!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book 10 Nov 2003
Format:Hardcover
Actually a cosmic read and Ive now passed it to my sis who is definately on the move in six months or so. I want to help her with everything to do with legal side etc but I firmly believe this book will do all that and more. Lots of science and advice but also TONNES of common sense ideas to help bump up the price of your home. The house pics are good also and Im thinking of getting other copies for friends Christmas who'll appreciate the work done by the authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars The ULTIMATE property bible 27 Oct 2003
Format:Hardcover
As an ex estate agent I am suspicious of many books that offer the holy grail in terms of making cash from housing. We all want to get rich quick but the reality is that we need good advice to take us on a journey of property buying discovery! Having scanned this book initially and read it in depth subsequently I have to say it is a precise guide to the do's and dont's of investing. The book is broken down into sections that clearly outline every element of home buying from identifying the next HOT area to the best way to quick fix problems and create a better and more sellable house in the meantime.
The writers are clearly overflowing with useful advice in many areas, most of which I suspect stems from their own vertiginous ascent up the property ladder (described in the pages)both as part of the show that goes with the book but just as importantly in their private lives. I admire anybody who starts with a 25K flat as they did some years ago and ends up in a house worth a million pounds!! That is a MAJOR success and coming from someone like me who knows the market very well I suggest it is no mean achievement!
In this day and age we are awash with TV shows and books pertaining to this subject matter but this is the first one I have read that clearly outlines every step in proper laymans terms detail. I feel there is now no need for another property bible so ample is this one and having got a little rusty about certain elements of the market since I left my estate agency job this has provided the perfect refresher course.
I reccomend it strongly.
