THE MILLION DOLLAR DIVORCE is a story of deceit, trickery and lies and I enjoyed every minute of it! When Nate Kenny finds out that his wife of four years cannot give him the one thing he wants more than anything in the world, a child, he goes off the deep end. To make matters worse he feels betrayed by the lies his wife has told him and holds steadfast to the knowledge that things did not have to be this way. Now more determined than ever to have a child he devises a plan to divorce his wife Monica without having to give up a dime of his sixty-million dollar fortune. Enter Lewis Waters a handsome young man who happens to be exceedingly down on his luck to say the least. When these two men cross paths Nate comes up with a plan to have Lewis seduce his wife in order to gain proof of an affair while giving Lewis everything he needs to start his life anew. However, once Nate’s plan is in action he begins having second thoughts and realizes that Monica may be the best thing that ever happened to him.

All the while reading this novel I despised Nate Kenny more and more and felt sorry for Lewis who’d gotten himself into ill-fated situation, with a despicable man, for a noble reason…the betterment of his child. However, there was no one to root for in this novel except for maybe Monica, because of the treacherous nature of Nate and Lewis’s plan there were clearly no winners to be had in this situation, which is exactly what kept me turning the pages late into the night. A quick and easy read perfect for a lazy day, 4 ½ stars!

Read this book in 3.5 hours- it was fantastic! It has been a while since I have whizzed through a book in one sitting, and I totally loved it. I have read three other RM Johnson books, and for me this is his best. The story is about a wealthy man not getting wants when he wants it so he uses his money and power to try and get it, only thing is that it back fires on his behind.

The book is very cleverly written, although I felt the end was slightly rushed. The novel is entitled `The Million Dollar Divorce', as such I would have actually liked to have seen how the whole drama was played out at court that is my only complaint.

Mr Johnson you have written a fantastic book, all the characters are relatable to some extent. I love how you write about the emotions of men; you make them vulnerable without making them weak- BRAVO!!! i cant wait to read the next novel of yours. Keep up the good work.

RM Johnson did a great job with this book and he should be commended. `The Million Dollar Divorce' is definitely a page turner. I could not put this book down. It's a book that keeps you on edge and it is truly unpredictable. As you start to read this book it sounds and feels like a fairytale for most women but takes you too a realistic journey towards the end.

In this book we have Nate, who is a successful business man, that finally decides to give up being a bachelor and chooses Monica to be his wife. His goal is to start his own firm and a family, in that order. However, Monica suggests they wait until they've been married a couple of years so they could enjoy life together, travel and get to know each other before starting a family. Everything goes according to plan and three years later, after taking a home pregnancy test, Monica announces her pregnancy. To her dismay, a visit to the obstetrician reveals that Monica was never really pregnant, she only had symptoms. In fact, she will never be able to conceive; she's going through premature menopause.

From this point, in my opinion, the story becomes a bit ridiculous. Nate wants to let his wife know how hurt he is by finding out they will never be able to conceive children together. He wants a divorce but quickly changes his mind once he finds out Monica will be entitled to half his fortune; thirty million dollars. However, there is a clause in their prenuptial agreement that states if she's caught cheating, she gets nothing. So he devises a plan to make her commit adultery.

As you continue to read this story you get a glimpse of a dark and scary side of the rich and powerful and the lengths that they will go to have it all. Through out this book I found that some of the characters were very real to me, such as Tabetha compare to Lewis who sort of felt unrealistic . I think most women will be able to really relate to Tabetha (a close girlfriend of one of the main characters in this book) who gives advise that she believes will bring her friend true happiness. I also liked Monica, even though I found her to be a bit dense.

`The Million Dollar Divorce' is a good book. Though the story was not realistic in many ways, it highlights enough common human situations to support a lively conversation for a group discussion. Highly recommend.
