Edited this because what I typed previously was not very nice.
Michael Jackson's words in this book are a true, wonderful insight into the man whom is not portrayed in the media. It is lovely to see this side exposed in the book. Actually I am very glad that I have read Michael's words in this book. It shows him as a deep, reflective, loving, humble, childlike soul.
However, Shmuley's commentry is often out of touch with what Michael is saying or is simply too 'high and mighty'judgemental. He also talks religion quite a lot, so if you aren't into that then you won't enjoy those parts. If you cut his comments out of this book and if there was proof that Michael had given consent to this book I would have given it a 5 out of 5.
Shmuley seems to have betrayed Michael's trust. Not that Michael's comments portay him in a bad light, but the fact that he went to a Rabbi, a Holy man to tell his thoughts and now that man is publishing that for money, it can't be right. It actually makes me feel bad for reading it.
I also didn't appreciate him telling Michael that his fans only love what he does (music & performance) not who he is. Shmuley had no right to speak on behalf of fans and I really hope Michael did not believe that, because it is definitely not true. Michael Jackson has the strongest most passionate fan base who fight for him almmost everyday, we would not be doing that if we didn't love HIM the PERSON he was. I'd trade all the music to have him back on earth.
