Product Description

Product Description

The founder of this whole-body approach to healing, Robert St. John (who author Gaston Saint-Pierre trained with) gave it the curious name 'Metamorphosis'. Yet the analogy with a caterpillar is apt - for, just as it metamorphoses into a butterfly, so, as this books explains, we as human beings have the capacity to transform and heal ourselves. The technique's two leading exponents present its principles - the central one being the belief that during the nine months between conception and birth our physical, mental, emotional and behavioural structures are all established. By working on the spinal reflexes of the feet, hands and head, this formative period can be brought back into focus, so allowing healing to take place. This positive, life-affirming book is a fascinating and uplifting work, and conveys a powerful message - that we can leave behind patterns of psychological or physical 'dis-ease' and move forward, re-energised. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

About the Author

Gaston Saint-Pierre was born in French Canada and has lived in England since the early 1960s. After 14 years in finance, he trained as a Montessori teacher. In the 1970s he trained with Robert St John. In 1980 he founded the Metamorphic Association, a charitable foundation, and now lectures and teaches worldwide. Debbie Shapiro (formerly Boater) was born in England, but now divides her time between there and America, teaching and practising the Metamorphic Technique and healing therapy. She is the author of The Bread Book and co-author of The Healer's Handbook. Her husband, Eddie Shapiro, is a Western Yogi. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

joella 15 April 2011

Format:Paperback
This book shared what I'd felt/sensed for along time & again put into words what I'd experienced to date in my life--when significant others said you are too deep & I said 'E qua Barcelona'(Faulty towers/Basil & Sybil) versus others giving me 'permission' to find & be myself--'mixed messages'-- I knew that this would help me & those I treated in the future; gave me an area I wished to research/support & a quiet confidence that I was travelling in the right direction not only for me but how to engage the spark to encourage others to help them in loving themselves'
A very valuable addition of my belief in a toolbox to support others in taking responsibility for themselves in becoming healthy again.
Now the review asks me what would I have wanted to know before I purchased the item--to be honest I didn't know, however I just knew in my field it was a valuable asset/read for where I was in my learning about holistic health. My tutors were 'teaching me' but not 'showing' me, so in a nutshell all my courses did not support me in the theory--all handouts were a learning to pass an exam & this book & others were valuable in supporting me to help others.
Really glad I found this book.

very informative but too clinical in terms of naming skelet 25 May 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
i enjoyed the concept of the book but i have a very limited knowledge of the skeletal structure in medical terms. it would be very helpful if somewhere in the book there was a diagram of the total body using pages 78-79 as the explanation so you could follow it a little more clearly. i also noted with interest the reference to people not using outside influences as excuses for their lot in life.
