5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book 6 Jun 2006
Format:Paperback
This is a really user friendly guide to mental preparation in sport. It covers all the basic skills that you will need to develop a strong mental game and there are loads of charts and tables to help you implement the advice presented. I particularly liked the way the authors make use of quotes from famous athletes to reinforce their points.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average book. 11 July 2005
Format:Paperback
Not a particularily brillant book. Sports psychology is a very complex topic and individual to each sport. This book attempts to bracket them all together.

This book is probably of most use to those undertaking activites where technique is the most important factor (e.g. golf, football kick, gymnastics) but of less use in endurance sports (where controlling the pain and pushing to the limit are important).

Contains lots of exercises to do with checklists and tables to support them. Useful if you are attempting to follow the programmes given in the book.
