Not going to write i long review i hope, saw that no-one has done already for this gem of a mix-tape so felt obliged to myself...
Where can i start? Im a huge Jehst fan, im an absolute UK Hiphop nut in general but i probably rate Jehst as my personal favorite - and this is purely coz he puts my crazy thoughts that i cant often understand myself, into words.. Always a breath of fresh air and a raised smile!
OK, so thats the big up for Jehst done.. I will also say i have been slightly disapointed with his last few offerings. As much as i love the guy lyrically, i feel thats where he should stay and avoid the production. Yeah he's good there to but for me personally its just a little overly raw and a bit to industrial.
This mix-tape (cd) when i saw it i was excited like a kid in a candy store and snapped it up without hesitation - and i was 100% happy and impressed with the whole thing.
From start to finish the beats are heavy, the rhymes are on point from everyone featuring - to me mix tapes are a good indication of where the scene is at at the moment and if this is anything to go by then UK hiphop is right at the very top and has a really exciting future coming up.. I cant wait for upcoming albums. (still waiting for a new Lewis Parker album tho :S)
Im not going to go through the track listing coz 80% are classics we all know, 10% will be new to most, 10% are brand new.. but 100% of them are top notch and well worthy of a listen - i never had to skip a single track!
Best way to enjoy this is on ur mobile, iPod etc... is a street album for out and about - spent a fair few days lately out in the rain doing my business and this album saved my life haha.
If u havnt already then get this now!
Beats: 10/10
Rhymes: 10/10
Overall: 10/10
Quality offering from some of the UK's best! Is essential for all UK hiphop fans without a doubt!
(shat, this is a long review right?)
