Unsure whether to buy this one or the American version. Amazon US lists the full content (includes Blazing Saddles but not The Producers) Amazon UK lists nothing so I don't know if either Blazing Saddles or The Producers is or is not included. This is rather basic and necessary information if you are buying a multi-part work. Come on Amazon, get your act together.

The Mel Brooks set is excellent, it includes 7 dvds & they are:
1. Young Frankenstein
2. History of the World: Part 1
3. High Anxiety
4. The Twelve Chairs
5. Silent Movie
6. Life Stinks
7. To Be or Not to Be
To really make this a "complete set" I also purchased (separately);
1. The Producers
2. Blazing Saddles
3. Spaceballs
They have stood the test of time!

Great compilation of Mel's work. Blazing Saddles would be a great substitute for either 'Twelve Chairs' or 'Life Stinks'. That said, Mel B is one of the most gifted all rounders and anything he does gets the belly aching with laughter.

A collection worth having for any fan of comedy it would be worth having just for Young Frankenstein. He made an excellent job of his remake of Jack Benny's classic To Be or Not to Be, "So they call me concentration camp Erlich?" Silent Movie with only Marcel Marceau allowed to speak, High Anxiety with Hitchcock references to Sabotage.

I also agree with one of the other reviewers that Blazing Saddles should be in this collection. In fact if you Google this product you will find the US version of this box set DOES include Blazing Saddles! That said this box set for the price of 1 film is brilliant value for any Mel Brooks fan.

While this set doesn't include some of Mel brooks' best movies, it is still a worth while collection.

Mel Brooks is a comedy genius and this collection has some of his best films. Young Frankenstein and High Anxiety are worth the price each, but they're all funny films. For this money you could only watch them once and still be quids in. Don't be stupid be a smarty come and buy this hilarious bargain.

Okay so there's no Space Balls either but that's not in the same league as The Producers. Still a very good collection and one I'm looking forward to working my way through.

I've seen all these films and my favourite is Young Frankenstein which rates on a par with The Producers.

If you like to laugh you'll like these films.
