First Sentence
The most famous of Greek poets, Homer might best be considered a construction, because little is certain about this individual: no definite dates, no birthplace, no proof that he was the single author of the lliad and the Odyssey, particularly since both incorporate earlier legends and descriptions. Read the first page

THE Book on Medusa 23 Mar 2006
By Sheree Rehema - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I adore this book. I've scoured the net for quotes, articles, references, anything I can find on Medusa and the Medusa Reader encompasses virtually all of it. The psychology, symbolism, poetry, stories, interpretations, pop culture, history... you name it. I cannot recommend it enough for anyone interested in my favorite legend.

A great academic resource as well as very readable 5 April 2010
By P. Hunt - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
For anyone who needs a compendium of Medusa references in cultural history, ranging from mythology and religion to psychology and art, this book is a great resource for scholars and lay readers alike. With chapters by eminent academics and subjects ranging from art history (e.g., Caravaggio) to literature (e.g., Dante), and readings encompassing millennia of contexts, this book is top tier and scintillating. The bibliography is also thorough and comprehensive. I will use THE MEDUSA READER as an assigned reference text in my next collegiate/university course on mythology.
