Format:DVD
I have seen many of the 'Rough Science' episodes (of various series) on TV at strange times of night. They were all fantastic. Watching these scientists work is fascinating - especially as it's with very limited material(usually scavenged from the location). McGyver's got nothing on these people.
The best thing about it though is that these are bunch of nice people, who know their stuff, and they're obviously really having fun! The locations are great too. Not only is it educational, it's great escapist viewing. It reminds me of Victorian Farm & Tales from the Green Valley Collection [DVD] documentary seroes, which is also excellent. Also knoledgable nice people, doing their thing. There should be WAY more TV like this.
Please reduce the cost of these DVDs, as they deserve to be very popular!

This first season/series is only four 29-minute episodes, but they're a lot of fun. The scientists solve a number of challenges in very creative ways almost entirely from scratch. Too bad the video quality isn't very good, even for a show from the early 2000s: there's lots of crawl and shimmering where different colors meet. The aspect ratio is 4:3.
