“Since we are often meditating than we think we do, the relevant question to ask now is, ‘What are you choosing to meditate on?’ ”

Cambridge has written many books covering subjects as emotional control and self-confidence; it seemed simply a matter of time before she turned her attention to meditation. As she says in The Meditation Course, we tend to meditate often in the day, watching TV or staring at a button on someone’s shirt. The problem is that uncontrolled meditation has no use, while a controlled meditation can do wonders for calming and centering.
This is a forthright book with no frills, simply what the basic steps a person needs to do to get into a position to do meditation. This is a great little book for someone who has little or no knowledge of meditation. I have had some experience with meditation over the past seven years, and I learned a few things I didn’t know before.
If you follow the guidelines of this book and do meditation successfully, you will also probably outgrow this book. This is for starting meditation, not shepherding a lifetime practice. But for an inexpensive introduction for the stressed, this is a great buy.
