Book Description

1 Jan 2004 0853695172 978-0853695172
In recent years, cannabis research has moved beyond its use as an illegal recreational drug to consider its potential as a therapeutic substance, particularly in serious chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis. Although there is a considerable body of primary literature relating to the medicinal use of cannabis, much of the published work concerns anecdotal reports. This title describes all the contemporary research findings relating to the medicinal use of cannabis and cannabinoids, and reports on the pharmacology, formulation, safety and efficacy of cannabis as a therapeutic agent. This should be a useful reference for pharmacists, doctors, pharmacologists and all other healthcare professionals with an interest in pain control.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 29 Dec 2010
By Myoda - Published on Amazon.com

I've been looking for some scholarly sources, and this takes the cake. It is the culmination of all the work done on Cannabis (up to 2004). It's a must have for those who are into learning everything about Cannabis and is especially a great book to have on hand for Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, etc. It is very detailed and most of it is not in layman's terms, however is comprehensive if you are familiar with biology, chemistry and psychology.

4.0 out of 5 stars An insider's look at cannabis as a botanical medication 5 May 2010
By KA Ward - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is an insider's view of how cannabis was bred, developed and tested to become a human medication. I cannot say enough good things about the book. I can only hope that similar products and applications will be coming to the USA.
