This is fantastically thorough book covering human factors. The 200 anthropometric drawings cover every possible measurement that you might need to allow for in a piece of design that accommodate human needs. I acquired it to gain insight into the tolerances that are necessary when designing a building signage system. I found it completely indispensable for this especially in terms of the needs of disabled people and wheelchair users.
Although the book is encyclopaedic in it's scope, there are two negative aspects to the book. The first is that the body size references are biased towards White American bodies. This may not be a problem if you're designing for people in the Western world, but if you're looking for a truly encyclopaedic reference to anthropometrics and human factors, this isn't it, (although it does come pretty close). The second issue for me is the CD that is included. If you're a Mac user, this is pretty much useless. It is possible to get some PDF info off of it my the majority of the information is not accessible. I think this is pretty rubbish given that a large number of designers, (like me) use this platform.
Good, very good, but not quite perfect.
