I was quite excited about ordering this book however there were no 'see inside' preview images so I did not know what to expect. As I already have many bonsai books I was hoping for something with many more images than what the book turned out to contain. There are a few pages dedicated to specimen trees but the rest of the book details techniques. For a beginner or someone who does not already have several bonsai books this book is recommended but if you are looking for a coffee table type book then this is not the book for you. I would rather suggest something like 4 Seasons of Bonsai in such a case.

This book contains much information of how to care for your bonsai. Some well known bonsai are use throught the text. It contains good illustratuins covering most important topics and an excellent Appendix with chart of activities and timing of procedures for most species. The Black and white photographs are not to good.

This book is a MUST have for anyone interested in Bonsai. Although it is very strictly traditional Bonsai, you can use the techniques and styles for any other plants such as Australian Natives. Excellent value.

Nice book but limited assistance for beginners. A more sueful book would guide the user to North American regional plants and soil suppliers.
